GIRLS FAST PITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE (Grade 3-8) - Join the fastest growing league in the area - summer Girls Fast Pitch Softball League!  Most games are played at JF Luther School Diamonds.  Practices will take place in May and during the season.  Grades 3-5 which play on Monday & Thursday nights, will use a modified fast pitch with no walks to increase action in the field.  Grades 6-8 which play on Tuesday & Wednesday nights, may use a windmill fast pitch and will resemble the rules used in high school games, with some modifications.  Roster batting is used and all players have the opportunity to play in the field for every game.
     ** League games begin June 8 and conclude on July 23, with play-offs the week to July 27th **
     ** A mandatory evaluation will be held Friday, May 8 in the Municipal Building Gymnasium  **

GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL CAMP (Entering grades 4-9)   Girls, get a head start in your most popular sport !  Through the inspiring direction of longtime volleyball coach Gayle Boos and her staff you will learn the touch of passing the ball (bump), setting the ball softly and the techniques for swinging for the perfect spike!  How about finally succeeding with the overhand serve?  Team defense will also be introduced.  Our 4 day long volleyball camp will get you headed in the right direction.     If you are entering grades 4-9 and want to play with your friends - sign up for the volleyball camp and be amazed with the skills you'll learn, rules you will understand and team strategy. Youth Center Formal Dance - (Grades 6-7-8) 
Almost 2,500 middle schoolers have attended the Biggest Dance in Town during the first 9 FORMAL dances.  Last year, 379 youths came dressed up ready to dance, or 57% of the kids who could come, did.  FORMA: dance is co-sponsored by the Fort Jr. Women's club who supply raffle prizes and run the concession stand.  Songs are spun by our DJ who does all the Youth Center Dances, Good Times Music, led by owner Chris Scherer.  Check out four videos from the FORMAL dance on the Youth Center's Website - - www.fortparksandrec.com/Youth_Center.htm

Girls Bantam Volleyball League (Grades 4-5-6) - Learn skills used in volleyball with an emphasis on serving, bumping, and setting for five Mondays.

ICE SKATING LESSONS @ JANESVILLE ICE SKATING CENTER  (Ages 4-12) - Learn proper skating techniques, reach for your goals and have fun from this US Figure Skating endorsed program - Polar Express Learn to Skate!!!  Classes are held on Saturday mornings (for 8 weeks) and feature 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of practice free skating. "Snowplow Sam" is for children ages 4-6 and "Basic 1" has various levels and is for children ages 7-12.  Additional 8-week sessions will be highlighted in our next brochure.
